  Docket D2002.3.33 Notice of Inquiry re Universal Service Funding
In March 2002, the Montana Public Service Commission opened an inquiry to examine the need for Commission Rules to define what the Commission will do and what standards the Commission will apply in exercising its jurisdiction over carriers who are designated Eligible Telecommunications Carriers (ETCs) for purposes of receiving Universal Service Funds.

The Notice of inquiry is attached.
 


  Docket D2001.11.147 Mid-Rivers Telephone Cooperative Inc. application for EAS
Mid-Rivers Telephone Cooperative petitioned the Montana PSC for Extended Area Service (EAS) between the Musselshell exchange and the Billings EAS region. The petitioned exchanges are those within the existing Billings EAS region which includes exchanges operated by Qwest Corporation, Project Telephone Company and Triangle Telephone Cooperative Association.

Triangle Telephone Cooperative and Project Telephone Company requested authorization to join and expand Qwest's Billings EAS region. The Montana PSC granted the petition in February 2002.

The Montana PSC on June 28, 2001, issued a Notice of Inquiry investigating the need to reduce Qwest's carrier access charge rate with associated and necessary rebalancing and mitigation. Notice is attached.
